Lamy (pronounced rhyming with "Tommy") is a leading producer of fountain pens in Europe, especially Germany. Josef Lamy, who was a sales representative for Parker in Germany, founded his own business, with the preexisting Orthos pen manufacturer. Lamy was also a pioneer in the use of moulded synthetic plastics in its manufacture. Lamy is now run by Josef Lamy's son, Manfred Lamy. Lamy's design is influenced by Bauhaus. This is typified in its award-winning pen, the Lamy 2000, which is made from a special fiberglass resin produced by Bayer, Makrolon. It was designed by Gerd A. Müller. External links
