illy is a brand of coffee, sold in pressurised tins (in order to keep the coffee fresh, due to roasted coffee beans releasing CO2 thus negating vacuum packing). illy is produced in Italy and is produced from 100% Arabica beans. illy has spent nearly 70 years perfecting the espresso coffee process. illy is a family passion that has spanned three generations. What Francesco Illy began in Trieste, Italy in 1933, when he set out to produce the world's finest coffee, continues to this day under the expert guidance of his son, Dr. Ernesto Illy, and grandson, Andrea Illy. illy has attempted to create a great collection of coffee cups decorated with contemporary art. In one year they even sold an espresso cup with a diamond fitted into the handle. In 2002 a different cup was put in the market called Illy Nude. These cups are made out of crystal and leave the consumer to enjoy every part of the coffee there is. From the pouring into the cup until the last sip someone takes, because it is completely visible. But Illy isn't the only one producing theme cups. Every year around Christmas Thun releases a new set of cups related to Christmas named al volo "Weihnachten". They also release other theme cups. Combining authentic Italian tradition with advanced science and technology, illy has claimed to be the world's leading coffee authority. External links
